Volunteer at National and State Parks for Free Amenities
The United States has several amazing national, state and regional parks – from the waters of the bay to the sequoia forests. If you have a favorite park that you visit every year, or a park on your wishlist, you can volunteer at the park and stay for free.
Parks happily trade free amenities for certain responsibilities, such as being the owner of a campground, an interpreter guide who meets visitors at a visitor center, a research lab assistant, and even a park photographer. Keep in mind that some volunteering opportunities require a full season stay, while others only require a week.
