It Is Impossible to Make Time for New Projects Without Changing Priorities

Everyone racks their brains over the question: “Where do you find time?” problem. You have so many hours a day and you cannot complete everything. However, the real problem may only be your priorities.

Writer Ryan Holiday explains that while it’s true that there are only 24 hours in a day, we all still manage to do things like eat, sleep, or spend time with the people we like on time. If you don’t work 80 hours a week, timing is not the problem. These are priorities. You have to sacrifice something every time you decide to pass the time. If you are not happy with what you cannot do, change your priorities:

Listen, where do you have time to eat three meals a day? How do you manage to sleep all this? How do you manage to spend all those hours with your kids, wife, girlfriend or boyfriend? You don’t have this time anywhere, do you? You just do it because it really matters. It is an integral part of your life.

Ultimately, this line of thought will lead to one of two conclusions. Either you find something worth giving up to add a new habit or hobby to your life, or you decide your existing routine is more beneficial to you. But the next time you need to add something to your schedule instead of forcing everything together, try to figure out if your priorities might change.
