Each airline departing from each airport is slightly different, and some routes tend to have more delays than others. Knowing about these types of delays in advance can help you plan your flight or avoid slow airports for connecting flights. FiveThirtyEight processed all the numbers and created an interactive chart.
Once you enter your airport, you can browse the different routes to see how much time you waste on average arriving or departing, and which airlines are the fastest. You can also break it down even further to see specific details about the routes you have chosen. This is most likely not enough to force you to change your route, but if one airline is always late on a particular route, it is good to know about it ahead of time.
