Align the Whetstone to Keep the Knife Edge Sharp
Sharpening stones is the best way to keep your knife blades sharp and in top condition. But sharpening stones also need to be cared for as they tend to flake over time and give a rounded edge.
A sharpening stone will work best when it is level, and there are several different methods to keep this flat surface. The easiest method is to sandpaper 100 by 1/2 inch of glass with a little glue, then sand paper over it until flat. However, if your whetstone comes with a leveling plate, you can use it to remove the ridges at each end of the stone in just a few passes.
