Use Masking Tape for Perfectly Clean Edges When Caulking

Trying to get straight, clean lines in caulking can be frustrating if you don’t practice caulking. However, masking tape can be as easy as shelling pears every time.

The photo above from the Swing N Cocoa blog shows how simple it is. Simply apply masking tape above and below the area you will caulk, apply sealant, smooth it and remove the tape while the sealant is still wet. Voila! Perfect work with sealant.

(By the way, sealant and masking tape will also come in handy when painting the edge of a wall .)
