Save Time on Cooking by Sprinkling and Defrosting Meat at the Same Time
Brine is a great way to get tasty moist meat, but when you add defrost, the cooking time can be a little long. Instead of making them individually, simply brine and thaw at the same time.
If you soak meat or poultry in brine before cooking, the meat may become moist and absorb the flavor. This process can take a while, so Christine Gallari of The Kitchn suggests you kill two birds with one bowl. Fill a bowl with cold water and salt, then place a piece of meat or poultry in the bowl and refrigerate until melted. It’s not ideal for all cuts of meat – less is better – but it can be a good time saver for at least a few different meals at home.
