Start Laying the Bathroom Floor by the Tub in a Straight Line

The most important part of bathroom flooring is the “setting the floor plan”. This is a do-it-yourself job that anyone with a little patience and basic know-how can do. The key, as this old house says, is to start in the center of your bathroom to get a nice, straight line.

Unfinished walls are a bit forgiving when tiling, so try to pair the tiles with something like a bathtub. Your eye will be drawn to this area, so you need to make sure the tiles are even and flat at this edge.

Start by measuring an equal distance from each side wall and draw a chalk line approximately 30 cm from the tub. This line will serve as the starting point for tiling the entire bathroom. Watch the video above to see an explanation of this in action, as well as the rest of the grouting and tiling process.
