Take Pictures of Space With Your Smartphone, Filters and a Telescope

If you’ve ever tried to photograph the moon with your smartphone, you know that it is basically impossible to get anything better than an overexposed white dot. However, you can take great pictures with your smartphone if you have a decent telescope. Andrew Simes of Canadian Astronomy explains how to do this.

Simes uses an iPhone, adapter, multiple eyepiece filters, and an 8-inch telescope. Filters are a real gimmick because they cut down on the overexposure that you usually get. Otherwise, Simes also recommends NightCap , which offers exposure guidance and good low-light performance. Visit Canadian Astronomy for all of his tips for taking great photos.
