Recover Used Solder by Melting It and Turning It Back Into Foil

If you do a lot of soldering work , you probably have a ton of solders around your work area. With a few tools, you can melt them and turn them back into usable solder.

Solder isn’t the most expensive material, but you know the old adage, “Don’t waste, don’t.” Every time you solder, there is a chance that drops of excess material may drip lower and after a while there may be a lot of it left. Instructables user zaphodd42 has an easy way to put it all together and turn it back into usable stuff. Collect all the balls, melt them in a small crucible and re-mold them into an aluminum foil mold. Now this solder will not be wasted. Using a burner, crucible and liquid metal can be quite dangerous, so be careful. Check out the guide below for a complete guide.
