Store Extension Cords Without Knots Using the Chain Link Method
There are many different ways to route cables and cords, but extension cords can be of a completely different breed. This packaging and storage method makes them easier to access and prevents nicks and knots.
In this video YouTuber DirtFarmerJay demonstrates how wind style cable link chain, and why it is one of the best ways to do this. You start by joining the male and female ends together and joining them so that the entire length of the cord is halved. Then you form a loop, turn it upside down and pull the cord. You repeat the process until you have a nice extension chain. What’s nice is that you can only undo the part you want and that won’t undo everything, but if you want the entire cord, you can unwind it quite quickly as well.
Update: We touched on a similar packaging shape for smaller cords.
