Create Your Own Wireless Sockets With the Raspberry Pi
Wireless sockets that let you control electronics from your computer are cool, but they are a little expensive. Craftsman Tim Leland decided to build his own using a Raspberry Pi and some cheap RF outlets.
The project monitors your RF sockets and Wi-Fi connection powered by the Pi. Once configured, you will receive a web interface for managing your power outlets. This is, of course, a little more complicated than creating something like WeMo , but it is much cheaper. Go to Leland’s website for the manual and required software.
