Google Maps Adds Local Experts for Expert Opinions on the Field
Google Maps has always been an invaluable resource for overviews and local information. Maps now includes Local Experts, which are select reviewers who can show you what’s going on.
A local expert badge is awarded to top reviewers, so you can help differentiate the average one-off testimonial from an angry customer from those of people who really know their city and want to show others the best places. Becoming a local expert requires at least 50+ reviews. There are also small perks offered to consistent reviewers, which you can read about here if you want to rise to the top reviewer.
