Turn Ramen Into Crispy Baked Goods for Fried Chicken or Fish
Ramen noodles can be a great snack or a cheap dish, but chef David Chang – a lover and master of everything when it comes to ramen – has discovered another ingenious use of deep-fried noodles: a perfectly crispy, flavorful breading for fried chicken or fish. This is how it works.
David Chang is a chef and entrepreneur known for the Momofuku line of restaurants (one of which is a ramen bar with some of the best noodles I’ve ever eaten). In the video above, he shows you how to turn ramen noodles into a crispy, salty, spicy fried chicken breading that’s easy to make at home. Since the noodles are already cooked, all you have to do is season them and use them as a breading for the fried chicken, just as you would using bread crumbs.
In the second video (below), he shows you how to prepare a ramen inlaid skate using a ramen bag. For skates, he even uses a seasoning bag just because it has salt and some spices in it that he wants for his last meal.
All in all, for all the alleged flaws in instant ramen, this product is affordable and really healthy, even if you don’t plan on eating it as directed on the package. Some spices and seasonings, as well as a little creativity, go a long way. Follow the links below for specific recipes for each.
