Operating Systems Updated for the Raspberry Pi 2 (so Far)
The Raspberry Pi 2 was released yesterday and comes with a new SoC that requires a little tweaking in order for operating systems to work with it. So, we decided to dig in and see which operating systems have already added support.
So far, several major operating systems work with the Pi 2. Here’s what works:
- Raspbian
- OpenELEC
- OSMC (formerly Raspbmc, which does not support Pi 2 )
- Fast Ubuntu Kernel
- Debian Jesse
That’s all for now, but updates are sure to come in the next few weeks and months. For those wondering, we hope that a RetroPie update will be released soon (and it looks like the PS1 emulator is working pretty well ) and the Windows 10 IoT version is still in development.
