January is the month with the biggest discounts of the year, but most of the winter sales are carried over to February, not to mention a few new sales thanks to the annual trade shows. Here are the best things to buy this month.

Obviously none of this means you should go shopping, but if you are saving something for a lower price, these are the things that will be on sale in February.
All winter
- Boats : If you are looking to learn how to sail at sea, now is a good time to take a look at boats. This happens for a number of reasons, as suggested by experts at Boatline and Bankrate : First; this is boat show season, which means you can buy used boats at discounted prices while everyone is excited about the new models. And secondly; Many parts of the country are now off-season – not many people take their boats during the height of winter – so demand is dropping along with prices.
- Computer Monitors : Black Friday isn’t the only time you can buy cheap computer monitors. January and February are stock cleaning times, according to CNET , which means you’ll find good sales as manufacturers clear the way for other models. - Gas grills and air conditioners : If you live in a colder area, February is a difficult month. Fortunately, summer goods like grills and air conditioners are a little cheaper, Bankrate says , as no one else wants to buy them. If you are in the market, now is a good time to shop.
- Wedding Supplies : Like the grill , everyone is waiting for spring to plan their wedding, which means it’s much easier to find a place and negotiate prices this month before the good weather arrives. - Winter coats and clothing : For obvious reasons, the later winter comes, the cheaper winter clothing will become. Both TIME and Dealnews agree if you wait until the end of the season: you can find good discounts.
February

- HDTV and Home Cinema : Even if you’re not a sports fan, it’s definitely worth checking out the pre-Super Bowl sales – that is, if you didn’t get your new TV during Black Friday rush. According to CNET and Dealnews , new models will arrive later in the spring, which means if you’re not keen on new technologies like 3D, there’s no shame in purchasing last year’s model at low prices. (2015 note: Unfortunately, the Super Bowl dropped pretty early this year, but you should still be able to find good prices throughout the month.)
