Schedule Phone Calls Instead of Responding to Them
Some jobs involve spending a lot of time on the phone. Usually the phone rings and you answer. Instead of responding to phone calls, try scheduling calls in the morning so you don’t get distracted from your task during the day.
At Inc, they remind us that scheduling a phone call reduces the randomness of your day and gives you control. They offer 30 minute intervals, but you can choose any schedule that suits you. Many professionals will make these calls within ten minutes at any time of the day. The main thing is to determine in advance how long and at what time you will talk on the phone. When you are not on a call, put your phone in Do Not Disturb mode.
