Fix Slow Animation in Yosemite by Enabling “Increase Contrast”
Yosemite’s new look and feel is great for new Macs, but older Macs fail to handle some animations, especially when opening Exposé. iDownloadBlog spoke to a genius at the Apple Store who suggested turning on “Increase Contrast” to speed up the animation.
If you are tired of slow animations, you can fix them by losing some of the transparency effects:
- Go to System Preferences> Accessibility> Display.
- Select the “Increase Contrast” checkbox.
That’s it, you should see that the animation sped up a bit. It works great on my 2009 iMac, which struggled with pretty much all animations in Yosemite, but your experience may be different.
