ProWritingAid Checks the Clarity, Repeatability of Words and Stamped Phrases

Editing your own work can be tricky. If you don’t give yourself enough time between writing and editing, things may sound good the way they are. Fortunately, ProWritingAid is a web-based application that edits your work to suit your writing style and gives you immediate feedback.

ProWritingAid refers to clichés, unnecessary “glue words” (such as who, what, when, where, and why), and redundancies (such as “still remains”). It’s a great free tool, especially if you can’t let another person take a close look at your work, but you have to pay to unlock features like plagiarism checker. ProWritingAid has a plugin for Chrome, but based on terrible reviews of the online store, I suggest using a web editor.

If you want to completely overhaul your work, combine ProWritingAid’s suggestions with Grammarly’s fundamental grammar and spelling changes .
