Raise the Height of Your Backyard Wall to Provide Privacy and Protection
Do you think that your neighbors see everything that you do in your yard? Build this easy-to-install privacy fence to keep your eyes out of the way. It won’t break your budget and looks good on both sides of your wall.
This privacy fence extends over the top of the existing wall to a height of 8 feet. It’s tall enough to block your neighbors’ windows and prevent anyone from jumping over your wall. Please check your local building codes before embarking on this project, as some cities have wall height restrictions. It’s also a good idea to let your neighbors know what you have planned, especially if it involves blocking any kind outside of your backyard.
You will need to buy enough 4x8ft corrugated steel roofing panels to cover the full length of your wall, cladding boards, concrete anchors, and sheet metal roofing screws. A punch with a masonry drill is used to pre-drill the holes for attaching the formwork planks to the wall, and an impact driver attaches the roof panels to the timber planks.
This fence is susceptible to damage from high winds, but otherwise you have a maintenance-free wall to install over the weekend to provide years of privacy for you and your family. Check out the link for the complete guide.
