This List Has 100 Places to Find Reliable Health Information

We’ve all asked Dr. Google about health problems, but sometimes, instead of good advice, you’re likely to find exaggerated pseudoscience. The Medical Library Association has compiled a list of 100 credible sources so you can avoid Dr.Google’s sometimes confusing results.

The list includes sites like the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention , Medline Plus , and many hospitals and medical libraries. There are dedicated resources for the health of children, the elderly, information on medications and for specific conditions such as stroke , allergies and diseases of the digestive system .

Not listed, but also worth visiting, The Cochrane Summaries , which summarize the yes and no results of various studies on the topic, such as whether cranberry juice prevents urinary tract infections (answer: probably no). This article from Vox includes several more databases that track similar questions and some background information on how those resumes are put together.

Take a look at the full list (the PDF version is especially handy) and you will have easy access to some of the best answers to your health questions on the Internet.
