Discomfort is an important part of the learning process , so it’s a shame we avoid it that way. Train yourself to be constructive discomfort by finding new pioneers.

You rarely feel so uncomfortable the first time you do something. The good news is that the more you try something that you’ve never done before, the less intimidating it is when you find yourself in an uncomfortable situation. It can be as simple as trying a new food you’ve never eaten, playing a new game, or meeting someone else. As the Dumb Little Man blog explains:

When was the last time you did something for the first time? To achieve great goals and work on your crazy-stupid ideas, you need to get out of your comfort zone … By regularly stepping out of your comfort zone, you will increase the number of things you love. You will also be able to enjoy life more, because dating gives us a better chance of enjoying something, even if it turned us off at first.

The best part is that you can cut your teeth on new, uncomfortable, low-risk things, like watching a movie you don’t like to make it easier to jump into uncomfortable areas where the stakes are higher. The point is to get used to going beyond your usual habits so that these habits don’t generally become ingrained.
