Don’t Waste Time on Social Media by Making a Game Plan First
Social media like Facebook and Twitter can be time-consuming. To cut down on the time you waste reading about other people’s lives, decide on a goal before logging in.
There are tons of people who only go to social media when they have nothing else to do, but there are many of us who fall into the trap of wasting time when we shouldn’t . You are probably better off not checking social media at all when you have tasks to complete, but if you have to, MakeUseOf’s Trevor Dobrygoski invites you to first ask yourself, “What’s my game plan?” Basically, what is your goal or purpose?
Maybe you need to wish someone a happy birthday, or maybe you need to answer a party. Be that as it may, decide it ahead of time and then focus on doing just what you planned. This works in the same way as creating a shopping list. If you walk into a store without a game plan, you’ll be there for a lot longer and leave with items you probably don’t need. If you log into a social network without a game plan, you will be on it for much longer and leave with a lot of knowledge that you probably won’t need. It’s best to stop wasting your productive time on social media entirely, but if you must, at least find a way to get in and out quickly.
