Stop Waiting “A-Ha!” Moments
In films, the hero always comes up with a fully formed brilliant idea in an instant. In real life, this is rarely the case. So don’t sit back and wait for those “A-ha!” moments to start.
As Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg explained to Entrepreneur magazine, most of the time, big ideas don’t magically come to you in the middle of the night. They are the result of a long process that involves solving smaller problems until you find a larger solution. Only when you take a step back and look at the work done will you have a moment of realizing what it is:
When asked about the “exact moment” when the idea for Facebook came to him, Zuckerberg paused inquiringly and said, “I don’t think this is how the world works.”
“Ideas usually don’t just come to you,” he said. “It’s a lot of dots that you connect to finally understand that you can potentially do something.”
If you are still waiting for the right moment to start working on a project, then this is now. You don’t need to have all the parts in place or all thought out to get started. You can find inspiration along the way and keep solving smaller problems until you get there.
