“Good Friends Come”
We all meet and get to know many people in our life, but it can be difficult to determine who your real friends are. Good friends are those who will respond when you find yourself in a difficult moment, or show up when you need or want your friends by your side. In short, good friends appear.
Washington Post blogger Joel Achenbach writes:
However, even if you do make friends, you should also remember the main rule: good friends appear. Reliable. When in doubt, leave. Be there. Friends remember friends who answered the call.
Likewise, you can easily decline invitations or requests from friends for services. You are probably already wasting a ton of your energy on a job, hobby, or family. Good friends will understand if you sometimes can’t show up, but time takes its toll. Remember to save time and energy for your friends – like everything else in life, maintaining friendships takes work.
